A new operation, Craven Tasker Sales Ltd, has been launched and heading up the new task force is John Hope, a director of Craven Tasker Sales. The new company will operate from six regional centres and the new sales team has been formed from existing sales personnel from within the group.

Succeeding Philip Croft as group managing director of Crane Fruehauf Ltd is Basil Day who joined Crane Fruehauf in 1954 as design project engineer. In 1965 he was appointed to the main board and became group manufacturing director, later moving on to become managing director of Crane Fruehauf Service and Equipment Ltd. Since then he has worked for Fruehauf Mexico, Fruehauf Europe Incorporated and, since August 1979, has been managing director of the Fruehauf subsidiary Dutch company, Netam-Fruehauf By.
A new chairman of the Yorkshire section of the Chartered Institute of Transport, Major-General John Carpenter, has been installed in his new post. He has been a Fellow of the Institute since 1965 and a member of the Yorkshire section and section committee since 1975,
