• Because the Redditch magistrates had not reached the case on the appointed day and therefore there had been no outcome regarding allegations of breaches of licence conditions and using unlicensed vehicles, this could not be taken into account at an inquiry in Birmingham on Monday.
However, the company, Brown Bros., Handsworth, had no customer evidence to support the addition of six tippers to its B licence so the West Midland Licensing Authority, Mr. J. Else, refused the variation, which included changing the conditions of its existing vehicles to those sought for the new vehicles.
