Over 1,000 workers of' the Birmingham anddMidland Motor Omnibus Co„ Ltd., attended a meeting called by the Transport and General Workers Union, at which Mr. L. G. Wyndhani Shire, chief engineer, and Mr. 0. C, Power, traffic manager, spoke. They expressed sympathy with the men's requests, but reminded workers that applications for concessions must be made in the proper way.

The other meeting was of transport employees of Manchester Corporation. It was addressed by Mr. Harold E. Clay, national secretart of the passenger section of the Union, and Mr. T. McLean, secretary of the area trade group. The meeting expressed dissatisfaction with the result of negotiations with the municipal transport committee, which had rejected a demand for increased wages for busmen. It was decided to press for a further conference with the committee within seven days.
