• A&J Bull's waste business is to be taken over by Belgianowned United Waste—but there will be no redundancies at the London firm, and its management will stay in place.
The takeover is due to take place in the next few days. The selling price is believed to be some 142m; more details are expected on 20 August.
United Waste's owner, Group Fabricom, already runs Lancashire Waste Services, based in Preston.
According to a report on salaries and productivity produced in January by Plimsoll, A&J Bull is currently one of the most productive haulage companies in the UK. Each employee generates sales worth around £134,000 a year; their average pay is £22,900.
