Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Police are again advising lorry drivers to be vigilant after arresting two groups of illegal immigrants in less than a week.

Bedfordshire police were called to Toddington services on the MI last Wednesday by Tipton lorry driver Philip Maskell after he spotted a hand waving from the side of his vehicle.

They found a family of illegal immigrants from Kosova in the former state of Yugoslavia— three children and two adults— in the trailer. It was the second such incident in five days. The previous Friday, six Kosovans were arrested after leaping out of a lorry at Biggleswade.

A Bedfordshire police spokeswoman says: We get quite a lot making their escape in this area at service stations on the Ml and Al.

"It makes you wonder how many we don't catch, but there's not much except fields around the service areas and it would be very difficult for them to be inconspicuous."
