si STRONG protest has been nade by the Institute of Traflc Administration over trade mion representation on the roposed Transport Managers „icensing examining body iaison committee (CM June l8).
Responding to the Department of the Environment's consultative document on TIVILs, the Institute also said this week that to have the Royal Society of Arts form the liaison committee would cause delay. It suggests that the existing co-ordinating committee would be the most suitable body to form the basis of any new liaison committee.
Administration of the scheme could be placed with the RTITB and the RSA should arrange conduct and mark examinations. Lack of any mention in the consultative document of a voluntary scheme to encourage managers to seek promotion was seen as a disappointment by the ITA.
