THE Minister of 'Transport has refused
the appeal .of Eastern National Omnibus Co. Ltd., Ribble Motor Services Ltd.. and others, against the grant of a variation to a, • road service licence a'uthorizine excursions and tours from Great Yarmouth.
The inspector's assessment of the evidence of need for the proposed picking-up point at Norwich was accepted by the Minister, who also agreed that " it was not greatly material " that the respondents already picked up at Norwich on an express service.
The Minister agreed that the limited grant made would involve some abstraction from Eastern National. P. and M. Coach Line Ltd. and other express operators, but he felt that the added convenience to the public must be considered, and that, " on balance ", he could find ".no sufficient reason " to differ from the inspector's conclusions that the CommiSsioners' grant should stand.
