MR. J. H. SHUK LA, of Ahmedabad Municipality, India, who is now in Britain via a United Nations Economic Development -Fellowship, is visiting the Lancashire factories of Leyland Motors, Ltd. Ahmedabad has more than '90 'Leyland Comet buses which each cover some 36,000 miles a year on city services. Mr. Shukla will also visit London Transport and a number of municipal t r_a ns p or t undertakings, including Liverpool, Glasgow and Copenhagen.

M. CHARLES PEARCE, a field service engineer of Leyland Motors, Ltd., sails this week to Uruguay where the will spend six 'months -with C.U:T.C.S.A., the co-operative undertaking -Which provides 'the majority of Montevideo's bus services ('The Commercial Motor, April 30). He will .assist in the reorganization of the undertaking's maintenance system, and will pave the way for the introduction of the pneumoncyclic gearbox, Which -will be fitted in a number of Royal Tigers and Olympics now on order. The Uruguayan 'Government have 'authorized the import of vehicles to the value of £1.4m. from countries not yet named.

REAR-MOUNTED SELF-LOADER THE sole manufacturing and selling rights of the rear-mounted selfloading mechanism for lorries described in The Commercial Motor on July 30 (patent No. 711,235) are held by Felco Hoists, Ltd., 29 Cromwell Road, London, S.W.7. The equipment is being marketed as the Quick Lift hydraulic lorry loader.
