Of the 473 general-haulage vehicle' only units in list 6, comprising 1,21( vehicles, tenders were accepted for 372 units (871 vehicles). Eighty-three uniti (283 vehicles) were withdrawn, anc there were no bids for 16 units (5( vehicles). Two cases (six vehicles) were outstanding.

Thirty-two contract-hire units (11E vehicles) were offered, and tenders were accepted for 21(31 vehicles). In some cases, however, the other parties to the contracts have not . accepted the successful tenderers. All tenders were rejected for seven contract units (7C vehicles) and there were no bids fox four (17 vehicles).

The response to " property" units has again been disappointing, but no figures are yet available. They may be published next week.

E.R.F. BECOMES PUBLIC COMPANY nEALINGS are due to begin today in the share and loan capital of E.R.F. (Holdings), Ltd. The company was incorporated on July 15 (The Commercial Motor, July 23) and on August 5 agreed to acquire, as from April 1 this year, the issued share capital of E.R.F., Ltd. The organization was converted into a public company last week.

The capital of E.R.F. (Holdings), Ltd., consists of £250,000 of 5s. ordinary shares and £250,000 of 54 per cent. debenture stock. The boards of both companies are identical, and consist of Mr. Dennis Foden, Mr. E. P. Foden, Mr. G. Faulkner and Mr. E. Sherratt,
