Saunders Storage means that there has to be investment in specialist equipment. Z10 tends to have a dozen caravans temporarily sited at Strawberry Hill Farm, awaiting sale. David Saunders handles these himself and transports caravans for other customers. He runs an AHP Trailers caravan trailer because the company would not be able to take on this work with a standard flatbed.
AHP trailers are made to order, says the firm's managing director Tony Phillips. As well as caravan trailers, his firm also makes steel coil carriers and tipper chassis.
"The caravan trailers are high at the front, slope down to the rear, and are equipped with beavertails," he explains. In a typical year, the company produces 30 caravan trailers.
