Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FERGUSONS TRANSPORT of Blyth predicts its workload will increase on the back of a rise in tyre imports following Goodyear Dunlop's decision to axe nearly 600 jobs at its factory in Washington, near Sunderland.

Goodyear Dunlop says it can no longer compete with competitors in Eastern Europe and the Far East. Fergusons handles some of the distribution from the plant.

Fergusons owner Alan Ferguson says: We haven't yet evaluated how this will affect us, but it does look like work will increase as cost pressures moan imports will rise." But he stresses that the lay-offs are "very sad for the region".
