• by Miles Brignall The national chairman of the Road Haulage Association, John Bridge, plans to continue the fight for the essential user rebate (EUR) despite suggestions that its futile.
Speaking at the RHA Scottish and Northern Ireland regional meeting in Peebles last weekend, Bridge reacted angrily to an editorial in Motor Transport magazine predicting the Department of Transport would never be persuaded to introduce an essen
tial user rebate, and the fight for its introduction was a waste of time.
