Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Seddon Atkinson is moving to high-tensile steel chassis side-members and can spray them in any one of 9,000 colours on-line.

The new steel will be used from June and means that the side-members, which will retain the same dimensions, will be 20% stronger and allow underfloor tippers to do away with the subframe. This will reduce a tipper's unladen weight by more than 400kg but the chassis weight will remain unchanged, as will the cost.

Seddon Atkinson has already started spraying the chassis in two-pack acrylic paint. Any of the 9,000 colours listed in ICI Autcolor's Turbo Plus range can be specified as a no-cost option at a few hours' notice.

Fleet colours not in the range can be specified with five days notice; again at no extra cost. One of the first chassis to receive the new paint is Alan Kendrick's Strato 32.3251, tipper which will be on show at Tipcon.

Cabs are still only available in white but Seddon says that factory sprayed cab colours are a "logical progression" although it won't say if such a move is planned.
