Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• MAN's new eight-wheeler, with the latest F90 cab, gets its first showing in the UK, alongside the recently introduced M90 17-tonner, at Tipcon at the end of April.

The F90 replaces the F8 8x4 model providing higher ground clearance with wide parabolic springs at the front and robust multi-leaf suspension at the rear mounted on a deeper and thicker chassis frame.

As predicted (CM 22-28 September 1988) MAN's 10litre, five-cylinder, D2865LF charge-cooled engine is offered as the lowest power option which increases output from 179 to 191kW (240 to 256hp) at 1,800 to 2,200rpm and providing torque of 1,100Nm (811 lbft) at 1,000 to 1,400rpm. More powerful six-cylinder units at 216 and 246kW (290 and 330hp) are also available.

Front axle plated weights are raised by 200kg to 6,300kg while the two standard wheelbase dimensions are increased by 25mm to 6,325mm and 6,525mm and a third at 7,225mm for general haulage operations. All three chassis can be specified with day or sleeper cab.

The ZF I6S-109 Ecomid is now offered as an alternative to the standard 13-speed Fuller RTO 11613 transmission.

The 17-tonne model is also equipped with a new six cylinder engine rated at 137kW (186hp) at 2,000rpm and torque of 645Nm (476 lbft) from 1,200 to 1,500rpm for solo operations or can be specified with a unit rated at 169kW (230hp) for drawbar application at 32 tonnes.
