• Gentransco Services Ltd has joined with Belgian freight forwarding company Ziegler and Co to provide a full load and groupage freight service between Britain and Belgium.
On Monday, Mr Roman Ziegler, commercial general manager for Gentransco, predicted an increase in exports to Belgium. "We see the recent increase of 35 per cent of our exports to Belgium as only the tip of the iceberg," he said.
Gentransco offers twice-weekly groupage services from London and Manchester to Zeebrugge with a normal transit time of two days. From Zeebrugge, every Belgian destination is served by the Ziegler distribution network.
A f terminal at Trafford Park, Manchester, is being built by a consortium of six, including Gentransco, known as MIFT Ltd. Ziegler and Co is constructing a similar centre in Brussels and both should be opened early in 1974.
