Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ALLEGATIONS made at a meeting of Grimsby Transport Committee that Cleethorpes was opposed to the principle of amalgamating the Grimsby and Cleethorpes bus undertakings were strongly denied by the mayor of Cleethorpes, Cllr. J. O. Oskar. He said that Cleethorpes always had been, and war still, willing to discuss the principle of amalgamation.

The two councils have set up a joint sub-committee to discuss the future of the two undertakings following notice being served by Grimsby that it intends to end the present through-running agreements with Cleethorpes at the end of the month.

it was stated at the Grimsby meeting that the Cleethorpes representatives did not agree to the principle of amalgamation. One member stated: " If we were members of the Cleethorpes Council, and honest with each other, -I do not think we would give our power away, and I do not think they intend to do so."

The joint sub-committee are to meet again in an effort to reach a settlement.
