Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN integrally constructed single-deck bus body, for use with underflooror rear-engined chassis, will be one of the principal exhibits of Crossley manufacture at the Commercial Motor Show. It is arranged for left-hand drive and its overall dimensions are: Length, 33 ft. (10.058 m.); width, 8 ft. (2.438 m..), and height (unladen), 10 ft. lj ins. (1.083 m.).

Metal body framing is employed with interior and exterior panels riveted to the frame; connections between pillars and bearers arc designed for easy replacement and all brackets used in the main structure are interchangeable.

Steel roof sticks of Z section are employed, and the roof is reinforced by a continuous steel girder from the front to the rearmost roof stick. Roof tonaltudinals are also of Z section, with

aluminium angles to carry the interior roof lamps and ventilating grids.

Outside, the roof is panelled in 18 s.w.g. aluminium, whilst the interior has 18 s.w.g. aluminium for the centre and 20 s.w.g. for the coving panels. Between the panels the space is packed with insulating material.

In the saloon is seating for 42 passengers. The driver is screened by a full-height partition and to his right are horizontally hinged waist-high guard rails. Two doorways are provided on the right of the body, both being enclosed by Glider doors operated by electro-pneumatic gear under the control of the driver. A sensitive edge fitted to the exit door ensures automatic opening in the event of passengers or their clothing becoming trapped. Traction interlock prevents the vehicle from moving away until the doors are dosed_ Saloon illumination is by 22 enclosed circular lamps mounted in the roof. Externally, marker lights are provided at the front and rear on each side of the roof, together with flush traffic indicator above the waist rail and arrow-plate indicators at the rear. Two bell cords, each running the full length of the saloon, operate the single-impulse hell.
