MR. NORMAN P. BIGGS has been apointed a director of the E,sso Petroleum Co., Ltd. He has had great experience in banking. MR. HOWARD PAGE has resigned his position as director to assume additional duties for the Standard Oil Co. (New Jersey) in relation to European problems. He will retain his position as shareholders' representative for Standard in this country.
MR, ALFRED A. SMITH, general manager of Aberdeen Transport Department for the past 18 years, is to retire at the end of this year He has spent almost 41 years with the department, and earlier had five years \ with the Caledonian Railway Co. In 1927, he became chief clerk and assistant to the general manager of the department, and the duties of accountant were assumed by him in 1928.
COL. ARTHUR JERRETT, M.INsT.T„ will shortly be making another business visit to Portugal and Spain on behalf of Guy Motors, Ltd., of which company he is a director. He will attend, in his capacity as president of the Traders' Road Transport Association, meetings in Madrid of the-presidential executive. the council and general assembly of the International Road Transport Union, of which he is a vice-president.

MR. ROBERT WsTsoN, industrial relations officer of the Road Haulage Executive, is resigning his appointment on October 1.
MR. H. H. CANNON has been appointed chairman and managing director of Mansfields, Ltd., in succession to the late MR. E. H, TOMLINSON.
