Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

KENT HAULIER MJD & Sons is doing its bit for enforcement by lending vehicles to the Metropolitan Police training unit at Hendon.

The company, which runs a fleet of 100 vehicles and 200 trailers. has solved a longterm resource problem for Met trainers. Specialist Vehicle Wing instructor Dave Hodges explains that the force cannot afford to buy its own training LGVs and was spending much of its money on hire vehicles.

"Then we were put in touch with WO," he adds. "Now we just tell them what vehicles we need and when, and they set them aside for us."

MJD managing director Michael Dole says: "We met at another event and the guys casually mentioned that they had a problem. We've had a relationship with the Met for two or three years now."

The Met needs LGVs to train officers who work in hostage negotiation, the diving unit or the anti-terrorism unit, all of which have specialist vehicles.

Hodges explains that officers also need to be prepared for undercover work as well as to test-drive vehicles after accidents.

"[The people at MJD] are lovely and they are helping make London better by helping us to better train police," he concludes.
