• Northumberland County Council is being asked to ensure that changes in school bus contracts do not affect service routes. The move follows the withdrawal of a bus service in the county after the operator lost a schools contract in the same area.
United Automobile Services Ltd withdrew its service between Hexham and Corbridge after the school service which was operated in conjunction was transferred to another operator.
Hexham Rural Council has asked United to restore the scheduled service.
