ASreported in The Commercial Motor on September 21, Continental Trailways Bus System, Dallas, Texas, U.S.A., have ordered several longdistance luxury coaches from Germany. They are to be used on services between the east and west coasts of the U.S.A., the route distance being 3.700' miles crossing mountains up to 13,000 ft. high.

Built by Kassbohrer, these Golden Eagle sixwheeled coaches are of integral construction, and have independent suspension by torsion bars and wishbones on the .front and trailing wheels, the centre axle being a solid driving unit. An M.A.N. 240 b.h.p. horizontal eight-cylindered engine drives through a servo-operated 'friction clutch and Z.F. Media six-speed gearbox. Fully automatic air conditioning is employed, with non-opening windows, and the " scenic " compartment at the rear of the-coach includes a bar, tables, refrigerator and washing facilities.

Unladen weight is 11 tons. The length of the coaches is 40 ft. with an overall height of 11 ft. 8 in.
