A gear for the ear

AUDIBLE reversing alarms are worthwhile additions to all vehicles working close to pedestrians or loading staff. To help prevent accidents, ReverseAlarm produces a variety of vehicle-warning systems, including the RA90 and RA100 models.

The RA90 is suitable for Municipals, psv's and light offroad plant. In 12 volt operation it produces a signal of 90dB(A) at one metre, and 95dB(A) from a 24 volt system.

The RA100 operating at 24 volts, is designed for heavy mobile plant and produces a signal of 100dB(A) at one metre.

Both alarms are mounted in a rugged waterproof housing and can be linked to reversing light circuits.

Undersealing systems

CAB AND PANEL corrosion can seriously reduce vehicle life. To help overcome this, Minden Industrial has developed an underseal application system, the Seta HKU, specifically for preventing rust on large areas such as those found on trucks and buses.

The HKU system comprises a compressed-air driven pump, fitted with a 5cm f2in) DIN barrel screw connector suitable for barrels up to 200 litres (44ga1), control gauges, a SATA LM/K/K spray gun fitted with a 1.5mm (1/8in) nozzle and quick coupling for fast exchange of applicators, three universal wands and all necessary hoses. The Sata HKU system is claimed to be compatible with all major underseal compounds.

A winter season version of the Sata HKU is available, fitted with an in-line material heater unit which has a reverse flow hose adaptor, allowing surplus material to return to the container. When applying material in areas where a minimum of spray mist is essential, the system is fitted with a Sate Spray-Mix gun. A 60 litre (13.2gal) barrel pump unit with its own wheeled trolley is also available.

Repair systems

WITH WINTER drawing on and with it bringing the prospect of increased vehicle accident damage, Blackhawk Automotive is offering the P188 bodyshop conversion plan to repairers thinking of re-equipping their workshops to cope with the increased flow of work.

The P188 bodyshop conversion plan is based on Blackhawk's existing P188 measuring and correction system, which allows bodyshops to tackle crash repairs without the need for specialised jigs or bracketry, and with minimum disruption of vehicle components.

For a three-month period, Blackhawk is offering a discount of £250 on P188 measuring units, and further savings on the following bodyshop conversion programmes: P188 CXP: This combines the measuring unit with a mobile straightening system, providing a full mobile push/pull facility. The system is being offered at the special price of £1,725 (plus the price of the measuring unit at £4,464).

MIT 2XP: The MIT 2XP is designed for bodyshops where floor space is restricted, combining the P188 with the Blackhawk Mitek collision repair system, with anchor pot installation. Priced at £1,310.95 plus £4,656 for the measuring unit, the MIT 2XP plan enables the repairer to adapt the system to suit his work patterns.

Blackhawk has also included a conversion plan linking the P188 to the Korek frame system: KOR 2XP. This combines P188 accuracy, positive anchorage and multiple traction for £2,516 (plus the current price of a P188 measuring unit).

Finally, owners of IPN 200 and side fitting benches, purchasing the P188 measuring and correction system, will receive free sheets of underbody clamps and support sets, to convert their equipment for operation with the P188, eliminating further costs on brackets.
