Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

rated at 118.5kW (159bhp) at 2,600rpm. As one of the Perkins 6.354 engine family, it might claim to be the most popular six-cylinder diesel engine range ever produced. More than 1,200,000 have been manufactured.

Design features include threering controlled expansion pistons to reduce oil consumpton, wear and noise; and a cooling system which includes a large capacity pump and external bypass with twin thermostats to give optimum engine temperature control for greater reliability.

The T6.3544 is used by UK vehicle manufacturers such as Karrier, Hestair Dennis, and Shelvoke and Drewry as well as by vehicle makers overseas. Up to 336kW (450bhp) is available from Perkins engines designed for military use.

THE Cummins exhibit is a cutaway version of the 10 litre in its turbocharged 186kW (250bhp) form.

The 10-litre engine is offered by Bedford, in its TM range ERE in C-Series tractors and rigids, Foden in tractors and rigids, Scammell in the Constructor eight-wheeler range and Seddon Atkinson in 301 rigid and tractor chassis. For psv applications, MCW and Bombardier are using the 10-litre in both service buses and express coaches.

For bus applications there is a special 134kW (180bhp) gross rating and for rigid vehicle applications there is a 1 6 4 kW (220bhp) version for multi-wheel rigid vehicles. The biggest selling versions to date is the 186kW (250bhp) model.

Modern computer-aided design techniques played a major part in the 10-litre's concept as a premium duty lightweight engine. Careful designs have kept weight low without compromises in structural strength or stressing of the engines key components.

Weighing only 850Kg (875Ibs) the 10-litre is compact in relation to its capacity and output.

Short connecting rods, a onepiece cylinder head, paired induction ports and the neat location of exhaust manifolds, turbocharger, filters and most other auxiliaries on one side of the engine contribute to its compact size.

The inlet manifold is also incorporated into the rocker cover housing to reduce further engine The PT fuel system and "Big Cam" engineering, further refined for the 10-litre, contributes to the engine's fuel economy. Very high injection pressures (up to 20,000psi) are used. This allows fuel to be injected into the cylinder faster makingfor better fuel consumption, smoother pressure rise and quieter operation.

THE THEME of Eaton's presentation is "after sales support", and it will be outlining the field sales and service within the Eaton Truck Components Group. The display contains graphics and literature available for both heavy-duty hypoid axles and medium-duty transmission, the latter of which has resulted from a collaboration agreement with lveco.

The two millionth "Fuller" twin countershaft transmission, which was built at the company's Manchester plant earlier this year, is the centrepiece of the exhibit. L.
