DOUGLAS CHISHOLM is the new director and general manager at Pickfords Removals.
He was previously south east general manager and continues to be based at the Reigate office in Surrey. Mr Chisholm joined Pickfords' Glasgow branch in 1957 and was later manager at the Stirling and later Glasgow branches. He moved to Reigate in 1979.
Another top level change has made personnel manager Brian Hardwidge personnel director. He has been in the company's personnel office since 1967 as training manager, assistant personnel and training manager and then personnel manager. Mr Hardwidge is based at the Enfield, Middlesex head office.
And a Pickfords Removals director has moved from NFC to Abets of East Anglia. He is Ted Philp, who was Pickfords' international operations director, takes up a similar post with Abels International at its Watton, Norfolk headquarters. He is a junior vice-president of the British Association of Removers.
