Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BRIAN HAYVVARD, one of the leading members of the National Freight Consortium management team, has resigned on medical advice.

Mr Hayward has been managing director of the National Services Group at NFC, the non-parcels section of National Carriers, since October last year and has been Consortium director since its formation in February last year.

A statement from NFC last week said it had accepted Mr Hayward's resignation with much regret. He is going to develop his interests in the musical and records businesses and that he will be supporting his son's conference and leisure company.

"The board of the Consortium wishes him every success in his new ventures and expresses its appreciation of his great contribution to the NFC over many years. His work in bringing National Carriers Ltd from heavy losses into profit and his excellent employee relationships during the Company's change of ownership were of particular value to the business."

Mr Hayward, who was chairman of the Road Haulage Association's express parcels group, began his career in transport in 1958 as a driver and became managing director of Southern BRS in 1974. He became managing director at National Carriers a year later.

NFC property group managing director Jack Mather, an RHA national vice-chairman, has been given the additional responsibility of running National Services. However, the Freight Services division has been transferred to National Carriers Parcels, part of the parcels group headed by Steve Abel.
