• In his reference to prohibition notices (page 96) Mr W. M. McCoubrey points out that his staff have certainly issued prohibition notices for defects resulting from neglect during the last year, but in the case of a nationally known operator of mixer vehicles, he had insisted upon a weekly safety check and this, in combination with a more comprehensive six-weekly inspection, had had the effect that no prohibitions were issued for defects resulting from failure to maintain.
