Certain frozen goods normally transported in refrigerated vehicles may now be transported in insulated roll pallets which are claimed to maintain a temperature of —27 deg Cup to 24 hours.
The unit known as the Cold Hold Container has walls made from polyurethane foam, sandwiched between two layers of grp; it has outside dimensions of 22in. x 33in. x 65in. and a capacity of nearly 14 cu ft.
Trays in the Airfix modular food distribution system can be used in these containers.
