Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Stand 99 — Fodens Ltd., Sandbach, Cheshire.

THREE chassis are featured on this I stand. Two of them are suitable for normal haulage, whilst the third is a 35-ton-gross dumper. A common fitting is a 12-speed gearbox (overdrive on the two haulage models) but each exhibit has a different make of engine.

En the Foden 4AX6/30 four-wheel tractive unit designed for 30 tons gross train weight there is a Gardner 6LX 150 b.h.p. diesel engine. The wheelbase is 10 ft. and the latest design of Foden tilt cab is fitted. This cab was the first of its type to be put into full production in Europe and an important feature is that it is of all-plastics construction. This reduces the weight and by having a onepiece floor there are few problems with draught.

The tilt cab is fitted also to the second haulage model, this being an 8E6/24 eight-wheel tipper for 24 tons grbss. The wheelbase is 15 ft. 6'25 in. (from centreline front axle to centreline bogie) and the engine is-a Foden Mk. VI 175 b.h.p., six-cylinder two-stroke diesel. The rear bogie has two 8.75 in.-centre overhead worm axles and a similar design of bogie

is used on the dumper. This is a 6DC6/35 six-wheeler which can carry, within its gross rating of 35 tons, a 22-ton load. The Foden dumper body has a struck capacity of 14 yd. and a halfwidth cab is fitted.
