EXPOREXPORT salesmen of Leyland Motors have finally done it—they have sold their first Leyland trucks to Timbuktu. To be more precise, the company has secured two contracts together worth tim from the Republic of Mali, where Timbuktu is situated. This is yet another part of the world to be penetrated by Leyland for the first time.

The Mali contracts total 134 Leyland goods vehicles of various types ranging from haulage and tipper vehicles to water tankers and long, articulated outfits. Largest portion of the order is for Leyland Super Comet tippers, of which 78 have been ordered. Also included are 20 Super Comet haulage chassis with TIR bodies.
