Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• RO-R has re-called all trailers equipped with TE9000 axles produced between September 1990 and 1993 for replacement of complete hub assemblies including bearings.

The re-call follows testing of large samples of hubs and bearings. According to RO-R, under the most severe operating conditions, the bearings in a small percentage of TE 9000 axles "are projected to have a service life which is unacceptable to RO-R standards."

The axles concerned are stamped with date codes J90 to J93. RO-R recommends replace ment at the next service for axles produced between September 1990 090) and August 1992 (H92). Those produced between September 1992 092) and August 1993 (H93) should be replaced before the next MoT test.

Operators will be given a £120 voucher for each set of six trailer hubs returned by way of compensation.

These vouchers may be redeemed for RO-R parts with the distributor offering the replacement parts. Affected operators should contact their RO-R distributor.
