Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Belt discharge bulk bodies that can be readily converted to flat bodies have been introduced by York Trailer.

Construction of the bulk carriers is based on a York coil-carrying semi-trailer fitted with the well-established fold-flat body design of Barham Bodies Ltd, Northampton.

The discharge belt runs to the extreme front end of the body, in the vee normally used to locate coils. The front roller, which incorporates the belt tension adjusters, is located between the main frame members ahead of the set-back front bulkhead. The roller is readily accessible for inspection and adjustment.

An auxiliary engine mounted on the offside rear of the trailer powers the belt, although hydraulic drive is available as an option.

A typical discharge rate is just below 50 tons per hour with free flowing granular materials.

The overall height of the bulk body, with its 4ft side walls is 9ft. Side-hinged double doors are provided at the rear; they and the rear corner posts can be removed if necessary but detachable side stays allow platform operation with the doors in position. The three-piece dropsides, when folded inwards, provide an unladen flat-platform floor height of about 4ft 7in.

A 30ft body has a grain capacity of just over 36 Cu yd and weighs approximately 4.5 tons.
