G. H. Cox has been appointed director and general manager of Ryland Group (Dudley) Ltd, the area distributor for Seddon-Atkinson hgvs. Mr Cox has been with the Ryland Group for 25 years, mainly connected with commercial vehicle sales.
S. H. Morris, since 1970 general manager of Cumberland Motor Services Ltd, moves on Monday to gm of Potteries Motor Traction Co Ltd in succession to I. Campbell who has become gm of the Western National Omnibus Co Ltd. Mr Morris joined Crosville as a traffic trainee in 1946,
Bryan W. Baker, 39, managing director of Tarmac Roadstone Holdings Ltd, has been appointed to the board of Tarmac Ltd of Wolverhampton (Staffs).
R. C. Day, formerly a director of the transport and freight division of Shipping Industrial Holdings, has been appointed to the board of the Thanet Transport Ltd Group. Mr Day, in conjunction with the Group chairman, K. L. Paynter, will be principally involved with future Group development.

Peter Spear, 48, previously group director of research and a member of the Rubery Owen (Darlaston) executive, has been transferred to Rubery Owen Holdings as group director of technical services. Mr Spear, who is a director of BR M Ltd, will be available to advise on technical services within the Rubery Owen Group, also acting as adviser upon
Computer-aided design principles. S. Payling, 34, has been promoted to manager of Newark branch of Godfrey Holmes Ltd, and R. A. Hewitt, 24, to assistant manager at Cambridge.
