• An order worth £fm has been received from Russia by Crane Fruehauf Trailers Ltd and Scammell Lorries Ltd for the supply of a special 300-ton capacity trailer and three Contractor ballasted tractor units.

The trailer, valued at £135,000 with spares, is designed for the transport of high indivisible loads and will be used primarily for carrying electrical transformers to Siberia. The trailer is 120ft long and 18ft wide and is capable of carrying loads up to 43ft long and the deck is adjustable in width to accommodate abnormally wide loads.
