Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Another well-presented Association of Vehicle Recovery Operators event (the 18th) is over; John Buckle of Buckdale Recovery has taken over the mantle of chairman for two years. Exhibitors brought along a good deal of high-quality, innovative equipment for recovery operators to drool over; especially Roger Dyson and Boniface with 45 show vehicles between them, all dedicated to helping and comforting the unfortunate.

As well as some immaculate big winchers, incident vehicles and repair and rescue equip

ment there was the usual wealth of high-visibility lighting and clothing. The conference marked the launch of the AVRO-approved reflective orange and yellow jacket with its fibre optic piping and matching helmet. The rig costs £150 but is a potential life-saver.

Significantly, only one vehicle came equipped with a dedicated axle weigher: a J&J-bodied TurboDaily for the AA with the Axtec system. This is a subject that could haunt the recovery industry (see industry news page 8).
