A N application last week for fares increases by Ribble Motor Services has been granted by the Northern Traffic Commissioners in a written decision. The new fares will be operative from the end of June.
The proposals, all granted in full, provided for a minimum single fare of 21(1., instead of 2d., with •a distance increase from 0.3 to 0-45 mile, together with other increases on some single and return fares. Town services in Kendal and Carlisle will have the 2d, minimum fare increased to 21(.1., with the distance reduced from 0.6 to 0.55 mile, and there will be adjustments to other fares. , a16
