ELGIN " TRANSFER" PASSED.

LAST Friday, the Northern Scotland Traffic Commissioners approved the " transfer " of the licences of the Elgin and District Motor Bus Co., Ltd., to W. Alexander and Sons, Ltd. Twentyone services are operated by the Elgin company. The change-over takes place on Monday next.

RAIL EXCURSION COMPETITION.

SOUTHPORT operators made a second attempt, last week, to secure power to charge fares 3d. higher than rail rates on the occasion of special railway excursions. The North-Western Traffic Commissioners reserved their decision. The previous application was Yefused. LYTHAM-BLACKPOOL COORDINATION PROGRESS.

ROAD services to be run between the two boroughs have been agreed upon by the respective transport managers of Lytham St. Annes and Blackpool Corporations, who are negotiating with a view to co-ordination, following the abandonment of the Lytham St. Annes tramways.

• The agreement, awaiting ratification by the respective authorities, provides for a 12-minute bus service between Lytham and Central Station, Blackpool, all the year round, a 12-minute summer service between St. Armes and Central Station and a 15-minute slimmer service between St. Annes and Blackpool, as an extension of an existing route. Joint applications' are to be made to the Traffic Commissioners for the necessary powers.
