Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

of power-operated doors, G. D. Peters and Co., Ltd., Slough, has developed its National PneumaticPeters system to meet the requirements of operators of all types of passenger

vehicle. Two main designs of doot engine are produced—the D.G.S. unit for sliding doors and the D.S. model for folding• (alternatively described as jack-knife or two-leaf) doors.

Where double doors, of either type are used, the door engine is duplicated. Operating gear for functioning on either compressed air or vacuum is manufactured by this company. The equipment is described, and advice is given on its selection for various needs in a new folder now available on application.

Noteworthy special features of the Peters system, include a safety deviee by which the doors reverse their action on making contact, when shutting, with any obstruction, and a cushioned movement. The former depends. upon an electric contact located in the rubber edge of the door, whilst the latter ensures that the initial rapid movement, in either opening or closing, is succeeded for the last few inches of travel by a slow, but amply powerful, motion.

Electric or pneumatic control is available, whilst treadle-mat operation, interconnected with the vehicle control if desired, is also provided. To conform with Ministry of Transport regulations, provision is made for opening the doors from inside by a single movemoot of the hanstle, and :there is now. an :arrangement' by: •which. this handle.; motion brings into ,.action the power for -Opening the doors. ..
