Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE Three Counties Show, said to be next in importance to the "Royal," opened at Perdiswel Park, Worcester, on Tuesday, in fine weather and with a large attendance.

The important implement section was dominated by power appliances, tractors and motors of every description, there being many different makes and a large selection on the various _stands. Four Case and two Cletrac tractors were exhibited on the stand of Messrs. Dorsett Bros., Bramsford, Worcester, who are big farm contractors. The Massey-Harris concern, with Blackstone's, showed many tractors and power implements.

The International Harvester Co., of Great Britain, Ltd.. had its own stand, upon which all models of this wellknown make of tractor were exhibited, together with every description of power implement.

Old Hill Motors, Ltd., Old Hill, Staffs, exhibited Reo lotries in three models. 324 The Ford stand housed lorries and vans, whilst the County Garage (Worcester), Ltd., displayed Bedfords in variety.

The show gave Jack Olding and Co., Ltd., an opportunity of introducing the new Caterpillar R.D.4 oil-engined tractor to the West Midlands. This is a compact machine, following the maker's standard layout and incorporating a four-cylindered four-stroke engine, with a bore and stroke of 41i ins. and 5i ins, respectively, and running at 1,400 r.p.m. at full load.

Rated at 35 drawbar h.p., the machine can handle four-five furrows on the heaviest going and will meet the needs of those who require good output on heavy soils.

A feature is the provision of five forward speeds, which should enable a gear ratio to be selected to meet all variations in load normally encountered. The gears give speeds of 1.7, 2,4, 3.0, 3.7 and 5.4 m.p.h., with drawbar pulls of 7,725 lb., 5,475 lb., 4,170 lb., 3,195 lb. and 1,880 lb. respectively.

The overall length is 10 ft. 9 ins. and the total height only 4 ft. 10 Steering is by slow-speed heavy-duty track clutches of the multiple dry-,disc type in conjunction with contracting hand brakes. The weight is give n ,as 9,550 lb. The price is 2695.
