Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Road Relay system (Vehicle News Extra, CM 5-11 July) that could mislead. I would like, on behalf of EFT, to set the record straight in print.

The parameters for Road Relay can be reprogrammed remotely, but it is not possible to use this method to re-programme engine power—this can only be achieved by taking the vehicle to an ERF distributor, dealer or service point.

The only circumstance for an engine to be "secretly" down or uprated is by having the adjustment made in the workshop and by not telling anyone that it has been done!

It is true to say that some operators have done this without telling the drivers concerned, and that the latter appeared not to have noticed the difference from behind the wheel.
