• At Loughborough ILeics) magistrates' court, fines totalling £80 were imposed on Trent Motor Traction Co. Ltd., Derby, with £21 advocate's fee and £6 5s costs, following pleas of guilty to 40 charges alleging that the company permitted the carrying of passengers outside of the licensing regulations.

There were also 14 charges against Mrs. Marjorie Clarke. Loughborough, alleging that she caused a Trent motor vehicle to be used as an express carriage outside the Road Traffic regulations and after pleading guilty she was given an absolute discharge on each charge.

The prosecution stated that the offences arose out of the hiring of buses to take people to bingo games in the district.
