EXPORT VEHICLE FOR BRITAIN: Siddle C. Cook Ltd., of Consett, Co. Durham, on Monday put into service a left-handdrive Leyland Super Hippo for hauling heavy loads. A second Super Hippo is on order. The wheelbase has been shortened to 15 ft. Sin. (normally 17 ft. 9 in.) and the chassis is equipped with both turntable and removable ballast box.

IN THE FAMILY: Leyland, Albion and Scammell products (all part of the Leyland Group) figure in an order from A. R. Marshall and Sons (But vell) Ltd. The company has ordered six Leyland Super Comet, two Albion Chieftain and one Chieftain Super Six tractive units. nine Scammell Fourtrak and four Scammell 12-ton semitrailers. SIX MORE FOR MUNRO: A further six standard Crane-Fruehauf S2 Fleetleader 27ft.-long 20-ton flat platform semi-trailers have been ordered by Munro's Transport (Aberdeen) Ltd.

SCAMMELLICRANE FOR SINGAPORE: The Singapore Public Utilities Board has placed an order worth over £65,000 for two Scamrnell 6 x 6 Constructor tractors and a Crane trailer. The trailer is being manufactured by Cranes (Dereham) Ltd. and will be a specially designed unit having a load capacity of 156 tons with hydraulic suspension.

TRINIDAD EXPANDS BUS FLEET: The National Transit System Co. Ltd., of Trinidad, has ordered another 25 A.E.C. Reliance single-deck chassis, to be fitted with 36-ft. bodies seating 65 passengers, with room for 20 standees. These new vehicles will be 6 ft. longer than the previous largest vehicles on the islands. Bodywork will be supplied by Wayne Exports Inc. of Indiana, U.S.A., and both chassis and bodies will be shipped in c.k.d. form to be assembled by Neal and Massey Ltd., A.E.C. agents in Port of Spain.

MORE A.E.C.s FOR LONDON BRICK: Sixteen A.E.C. Mammoth Major eightwheelers and two Mercury four-wheelers are to be added to the fleet of the London Brick Co. Ltd. The Mammoth Majors will have four-spring rear suspension instead of twospring bogies as previously supplied.

TENDERS FOR FAR EAST: The Pyrene Co. Ltd. has placed orders for 12 Thornycroft Nubian chassis for ultimate use as crash and fire tenders in India and Malaya. Six will be 4 x 4 and six 6 x 6 chassis.

£50,000 WORTH FOR BORNEO: The Public Works Department of North Borneo has placed a repeat order worth f50.000 with A.K.C. Ltd. for seven 10-cu.-yd. Dumptruk earth-moving vehicles. The first four vehicles will be shipped within the next week, the remainder of the order in three weeks.
