new luxury coaches for the Hellenic Mediterranean Lines was exhibited at the Hendon works of Duple Group Sales Ltd. this week. Built at the group's Blackpool factory, it is mounted on an A.E.C. Reliance export chassis.

The body is basically a standard Alpine Continental metal-framed body, with a more luxurious appointment than normal. Individually reclining seats each with arm rests, foot rests, and glove nets are provided for 42 passengers, with seat trimming of P.V.C. for comfort in high temperatures. In addition to sliding windows and three opening roof-lights, the body is equipped with Smith's refrigerated Spot Cooling.equipment, and individual adjustable jet vent outlets. Recirculatory heaters are provided. A second exit at the rear of the coach with outward opening coach door assists loading and unloading. The coaches will he used to carry passengers from the company's ships at Patras to Athens, and in addition to the 110-cu.-ft. rear locker, and a 15cu.-ft. locker on the skirt side, a large roof-rack is provided. Additional equipment includes glassfibre insulation for the complete roof, an ice box at the rear of the coach, spring sun blinds and draw curtains to the roof' lights and main windows respectively, and radio and public address equipment.
