CLLR. C. S. MC.RONALD, chairman of Birkenhead Transport Committee, has been appointed chairman of the Northwestern Area of the Municipal Passenger Transport Association.
MR. WALTER BONALLACK, chairman of Bonallack and Sons, Ltd., has retired after 70 years' service with the company. He is 86. He has been succeeded by his nephew, MR. R. F. BONALLACK.
MR. N. T. O'REILLY has been appointed chairman of the Road Haulage Association's national finance committee. MR. D. 0. GOOD is the new vice-chairman. New chairman of the national public relations committee is MR. H. F. CAPON, MR. W. J. DUCKS-TAM is vice-chairman, SIR CHARLES LILLICRAP and MR. JOHN STRONG have been re-elected for a second year as president and vicepresident respectively of the Institute of Welding. Sir Charles is a former Director of Naval Construction of the Admiralty. Mr. Strong is the chairman of Quasi-Arc, Ltd, DR. MAMOUN FTLTSSE.IN SHERIF, Sudanese Minister of Communications, and SAYED SULIMAN HusstIN, Director of Posts and Telegraphs, are visiting factories of a number of British companies supplying equipment to the Sudan. From July 18-24 they will be 'guests of the Government.
