Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The recent purchase of another two Volvo FH 380 4x2 tractive units underlines South Yorkshire haulier James Durran's intention to change its predominantly Scania fleet.

Durran has opted for the simpler nine-speed gearboxes instead of the Geartronic transmission. Like sonic of its later Scanias the Fl-Is have air suspension front and rear. This, says Charles Durum, helps lower the centre of gravity, gives improved handling and allowed him to specify PM Electronic's latest on-board weigher.

With all five axles of the VolvolBenalu tanker outfit on air the system is calibrated to the overall tare weight and gives readings according to changes in air pressure as the vehicle is loaded.

The new Volvos use Adams Ricardo GD Cycloblowers rather than Holmes or GHH compressors; like the rest of the fleet, they are equipped with Datatrak satellite tracking systems.
