A SCALE OF RECOMMENDED demurrage charges is to be circulated to all Road Haulage Association members in the Yorkshire (Hull) area because of extensive delays experienced in the past.

The demurrage sub-committee appointed at the November meeting has now reported back to the area committee with a recommended scale of charges to assist members in their individual negotiations with customers.

The schedule, which is to be introduced on February 1, will shortly be sent to all members and interested parties in Hull. There are to be meetings to discuss the charges with the shipping and forwarding agents.
