A N offer by London Transport
Executive of a general pay increase of 7s. a week was accepted, last week, hy motorbus, trolleybus and tram drivers and conductors through a dele gate conference. Drivers on country bus services will receive another 8s. 6d. a week, and conductors an extra 9. 6d, Corresponding increases will be paid to maintenance men and other inside workers.
The new rates became effective on January 3. Drivers on central services now receive £6 16s. a week, The L.T.E. has also agreed to reduce the qualification period for maximum rates from 24 months' service to 12 months on country services, and from 18 months to 12 months, on central services.
CHANGES IN RECORD FORMS
BECAUSE of the size of stocks of record and work tickets held by operators, the Passenger Vehicle Operators' Association has asked the Ministry of Transport to delay until 1952 the introduction of amended forms for completion by drivers and operators engaged in contract-carriage work.
A number of improvements to the Ministry's draft proposals for amended regulations covering these forms has heen suggested by the P.V.O.A. The Association objected in particular to a roposal for a combined type of record and work ticket containing additional information concerning journey time,
