THE HIGHWAYS Agency traffic information website, www. trafficengland.com, faced an unprecedented level of demand as the inclement weather struck last week. The site normally attracts 500,000 visits a month, but on 2 February it saw that number in less than 24 hours The HA swiftly produced a no-frills version of the site with reduced graphics but with all the information to ensure it continued to provide its core service. To prevent confusion, this service level will continue until the threat of severe weather has passed.
