8x4 mixer with a French-made THEAM TDL16.5m reach double telescopic conveyor. Fahey's has three depots in Cornwall and Devon from whIch it runs 28 mixers and 15 assorted tipper and tankers. Sales office supervisor Barry Schofield says that although the company already had four 10m conveyors: 'People always wanted us to get further." The 16.5m conveyor was part of a 2150,000 package that included the DAF CF85 chassis and 8m mixerbarrel, which typically holds around 6.5m3 of concrete. Schofield says the THEAM conveyor has done extremely well: "It's proving to be very popular. It's used a lot on strip foundations—it can stand at the end of a site and reach pretty much everywhere, it's got a good reach. It's radio controlled, so the operator can be right at the discharge to see what's happening." While Schofield admits it's a specialised piece of kit, not least in the current downturn, he says: "There's still enough work for it."
