Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IF you are sending a load to London, remember that the London Lorry Ban could affect that delivery. It imposes time restrictions, road usage restrictions and weight restrictions.

Permits may be required, and breaking the rules might well lead to prosecution. The London Boroughs included in the scheme employ observers to note vehicle registrations and prosecutions are common. Some Traffic Commissioners take such convictions into account when considering operators' repute so disciplinary action could follow.

Operators need to know the rules, and so do their drivers.

The ban applies to vehicles over 16.5 tonnes. It is in force Monday-Friday, 21:0007:00hrs; Saturday, 00:00-07:00hrs and 13:00-24:00hrs; Sunday, all day and through to 07:00hrs on the Monday. A permit must be displayed during those times. It is a condition of the permit that the driver makes maximum use of the M25 and routes outside the ban area. He must also maximise his use of orange roads and minimise his use of restricted roads.

Evidence of delivery must be carried. Contact: Lorry Control Unit, 0171 582 6220.
