Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The German-made Vogel range of centralised chassis lubrication systems is now available direct from the new UK subsidiary, Vogel.

Systems are available for all van, bus, light and heavy truck, trailer and semi-trailer applications. The idea is to ensure regular, time controlled, automatic lubrication of the vehicle's recommended service points. No manual input is required, except for reservoir top-up and normal service intervals.

According to Vogel, proven benefits include significant reductions in operating costs as a result of lower maintenance expenses, reduced wear, fewer repairs and minimised downtime. The supplier adds that systems typically pay for themselves in the first year.

A major survey on a large Vogel fleet operator apparently showed that front axle stripdowns were reduced by 60%, service and repair bills were cut by 15% per vehicle per year, and labour time associated with inspection and maintenance of the lubrication system fell from 22 hours per vehicle per year to just two hours.

Systems can be tailor-made to suit individual customer/vehicle requirements and electrical or pneumatically operated pumps can be specified.

Greases ranging from NLGI grade 000 to grade 2 can be used; in addition, all systems are compatible with bio-degradable greases.
